Prakashe is small town located on the confluence of the rivers Tapti and Gomati. It is considered second only to Varanasi (Prati Kashi) in its religious importance. The great queen of Indore, Shrimati Ahilyabai Holkar built a Temple Complex and a Ghat on the confluence to facilitate religious actvities at Prakasha. It was indeed a place of importance in Pre-independent India.
